Tricks to Beat Phone Addiction & Brain Rot
1. The Treadmill Scroll
This is a form of 'temptation bundling.' My rule: I only scroll Instagram Reel s while walking on a treadmill. It attaches an effort cost to a mindless habit, so | either exercise more or scroll less. It's a win-win.

2. Switch to 'Smarter' Platforms
Instead of the hyper-fast dopamine hits from short-form video, I'll intention ally switch to a long-form educational YouTube video or browse creative tut orials and study tips on Lemon8. It satisfies the urge to use my phone but I eaves me feeling inspired and smarter.

3. The "Ugly Selfie" Wallpaper
I set a really unflattering selfie as my lock screen. Now, every time I mindle ssly pick up my phone, I'm greeted by this ridiculous picture. It creates a m oment of cringe that makes me laugh and question why I picked up my pho ne.

4. Bury Your Addictive Apps
My fingers automatically know where the Instagram icon is. To break this p owerful muscle memory, I moved my most addictive apps off my home scr een and buried them inside a folder named something boring like "Utilities.
